Consider a two-player game on a (possibly infinite) 2D square grid, where each player controls one piece on the board. The piece can move to any of the 4 adjacent tiles—left, right, up, or down (kinda like a king in chess, but without diagonal moves). Each turn, both players must move their pieces simultaneously; they can’t just stay on the same tile from the previous turn. Here’s a catch: if both pieces are on adjacent tiles and try to move into each other’s tiles at the same time, they don’t crash into each other midway; instead, they pass through. To win this game, both players must move their pieces onto the same tile at the same turn. Is this game winnable?

Imagine that you’re a pixel on a 2D screen with the ability to move to adjacent pixels in 4 directions: left, right, up, and down. Your character can receive multiple movement commands simultaneously, and you’ll see the accumulated result as one big move (think of it as pressing D-pad diagonally). It is easy to see that you can move to any pixel on the screen, given that there’s no obstacles (and, for simplicity, we’ll considered there’s no obstacles for this entire post).

ปีนี้อาจารย์วัชรินทร์ชวนไปค่ายอีกครั้ง คราวนี้จุฬาฯเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงาน โดยได้สถานที่เป็นศูนย์วิจัยทางทะเลที่อยู่บนเกาะสีชัง เลยได้ฤกษ์เปลี่ยนบรรยากาศไปติดเกาะทำงานริมทะเลแบบ literally กันเลย (งานไม่ออก ไม่ได้กลับ ถถถถถถ)

เคยกินซูชิโร๊ะสาขาที่ไทยกันมั้ยครับ? เท่าที่ผมจำได้ มันจะมีรางสองชั้น ชั้นล่างใส่ซูชิถูกๆให้หมุนวนตามสายพานไปเรื่อยๆ ใครใคร่หยิบหยิบ, ส่วนรางชั้นบนมันจะเป็น fast lane เวลาเราสั่งซูชิราคาแพงๆ/แปลกๆ มันจะวิ่งมาจอดที่โต๊ะเราแค่โต๊ะเดียวเลย

เอาตรงๆ ตอนแรกคิดว่าไม่อยากเสียเวลาแชร์ดราม่าไร้สาระงี่เง่าไรแบบนี้ … แต่เหมือนว่ามันจะวนเวียนมาให้เห็นทั้งวัน (ทำไมวะ? เดี๋ยวนี้ fb ตกต่ำขนาดที่เราไม่เห็น “โพสต์คุณภาพ” จากเพื่อนๆ แล้วเหรอ?) เลยโอเคว่าลองเขียนๆ เรียบเรียงความคิดให้มันออกไปจากหัวน่าจะดีกว่า
